Dayna holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #11882). Every person who receives the ‘RCC’ counselling designation in British Columbia has met specific educational and training criteria required by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Furthermore, RCC members have not only met the academic, clinical competence and professional requirements, they have voluntarily committed themselves to practice counselling according to an ethical code of conduct and standards of practice.
Dayna has extensive professional experience in providing counselling to adults, couples, teens and children. She is trained in a number of different therapeutic modalities including Client-Centered Therapy, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Filial Therapy and Play Therapy.
Her approach to working with clients is highly collaborative and client-centred, meaning there is great emphasis on therapeutic rapport. Of equal importance to Dayna is to work with you towards YOUR personal goals and towards changes that you would like to see in your life. It is paramount in her practice that you as the client always feel safe and comfortable during your counselling experience, and that you leave feeling empowered and with more clarity of mind.
